50-year-old Edinburgh property firm eyes expansion with new city HQ
“Reaching 50 years is something we’re incredibly proud of, particularly when we look at how the business has developed from where it started” – Alasdair Seale, MD
An Edinburgh property firm that manages some 15,000 units across Scotland has acquired a new headquarters as it marks 50 years in business.
Trinity Factoring Services has acquired the whole of the Canal Court office space on Craiglockhart Avenue with support from Bank of Scotland. The financing was provided to support the purchase of the new owner-occupied premises as Trinity targets further expansion.
The firm currently employs 75 people - 50 office-based employees and 25 field staff. Alongside its Edinburgh operations, the business has an office in Rosemount, Aberdeen, to help manage its portfolio across north and north-east Scotland.

The Canal Court premises comprise 11,000 square feet across two identical buildings, located on the banks of the Union Canal, around a mile from Trinity’s existing Bruntsfield offices. One building will provide enough space to accommodate the Edinburgh workforce, while the second is currently occupied by charity Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (Chas), which will remain as a long-term tenant.
Trinity owns its existing Edinburgh premises and plans to make the space available to tenants following the move, creating an additional income stream for the business.
Managing director Alasdair Seale said: “Reaching 50 years is something we’re incredibly proud of, particularly when we look at how the business has developed from where it started.
“But we’re equally focused on what comes next. Bringing our Edinburgh team together will make a big difference to how we work, while giving us the space to continue growing and creating opportunities for people to build careers within our business.”
Ross Penman, relationship manager at Bank of Scotland, said: “Trinity has built an impressive business over almost five decades, combining steady growth with a clear commitment to its people and customers.
“The purchase of Canal Court gives the team a long-term base that can support its future ambitions, while the building’s energy efficiency made it a strong fit for our building transition loan. We’re pleased to support Alasdair and the team as they invest in the next chapter of the business.”
